Editor’s note: This is a book to pick and choose from. Some stories I let go of quickly for various reasons and some stories I read twice. As with his heroes, Edward Murrow, Walter Cronkite and Mike Wallace, we’ve a lot to learn from the ventures of those who were there for historical events and people.
Favorite excerpt: I found poignance in the entire chapter titled, “To a Young Journalist” and especially these words:
“The principles of honest content have not changed in hundreds of years. Whether you are writing on a stone tablet or a glass tablet, the audience must have accurate, evenhanded reporting”.
