Editor’s comment: Due to sharing my life changing books last month and asking for yours, I have a stack of 15 books I had not read before you recommended them. This is the second one I’m through and it feels like reassurance of all the things I’ve been learning since the mid-1990s. The book begins with the voice (and even the roommate) inside us. The never-ending narrative inside every one of us that causes such pain and suffering. Parts two and three get more deeply into steps of becoming more aware, therefore free, or “untethered”. The final two parts deal with moving forward. The most compelling reminder for me was near the end, which I will use as my favorite excerpt below.
Favorite Excerpt: “All the great teachings reveal the way of the center, the way of balance. Constantly look to see if that’s where you are living or if you are lost in extremes. The extremes create their opposites; the wise avoid them. Find the balance in the center and you will live in harmony”.
