Essence of the music/lyrics: This is my favorite song ever about communication, particularly among family. It was published about the time my Dad died and my children were just starting to dialogue with me. Like so many baby boomers, I was sired by a Dad who didn't feel comfortable talking about issues and now had children who were demanding we speak openly and clearly. I doubt if anyone has ever felt perfect communication among their loved ones so this song is just a wonderful (if dramatized) reminder that we must never stop trying.
