Alcoholics Anonymous: Big Book [more]
Preface: A friend once told me "there is no one in the world who cannot benefit from a twelve-step program." How right she was. I first read the big book when a relative entered AA. I was 33 and it was an unforgettable experience for me. I've (sadly) been associated with AA and Alanon many times since and still the book astounds me - mainly now because despite its age, the lessons remain relevant.
A favorite quote:
What else? "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can change, and the wisdom to know the difference."
