Song of the Month: “For What It’s Worth”, by Buffalo Springfield
In order to play out with my new friend Bill Hing, I collected all the songs I love to play and this was among them. It is one of the first “counterculture” protest songs and is written in response to the Los Angeles riots of 1966. Buffalo Springfield was also Stills and Neil Young’s first “famous” bands.
Favorite lyric:
“Stop, children, what’s that sound?
Everybody look what’s going down”
