A Million Miles in a Thousand Years: What I Learned While Editing My Life
Written by Donald Miller [more]

Preface: A young friend recommended this book to me and I really enjoyed it. Lots I agree with, some not so much but the point of the book is inescapable. The story is that Miller is contacted by script writers who are assigned to write the story of his life. And to his alarm, the story, as it was, is boring. And so he sets out to "write a better life story" which he claims we all can do. That's the point: that for better or worse, the story of our life is ours to write. And it is not easy.

A favorite quote:
"Fear is a manipulative emotion that can trick us into living a boring life."
